Photographic Events

Catch up with photography in the Atlanta Area with: Places to go, People to See, The Photographic Calendar of Events collated by Virginia Dunbar

Welcome to the SPS Website.

Next Meeting is July 10, 7:30 PM.

The monthly contest theme is "Abstract", the image must not depict the subject matter in a straight forward manner; such as patterns, textures, colors or elements not instantly recognizable as to source.

Our speaker will be Richard Colmes. Richard Calmes bought his first camera and taught himself photography while serving in Vietnam. Over thirty years later he has yet to put his camera down, although the subject matter has certainly changed.

An Atlantan who has built a career as an international entrepreneur, Richard has also spent hours either running or distance bicycling. The physical and mental discipline involved in those sports gave him a unique and personal perspective for what he has since discovered…
a passion for dance.

The Photographer's Print Studio Digital Lab...

As many of you know and for those of you who don't, TPPS has been given an Epson 9600 that previously printed digital black and white using the Piezo ink system. We are looking to use this donation to organize an at cost digital print lab, offering our group an affordable way to create archival fine art quality digital prints. To streamline the process TPPS will carry a few in house paper options for members to choose from and orientation sessions on color profiling and calibrating. I plan to have a group meeting to choose what papers TPPS will carry. Our pricing for both ink and paper will be based upon square footage costs.

Stephanie and I would like to extend an opportunity for our members to show their work and receive mention in the brochure we will have at the event. If you are interested please submit a few examples of your work a brief artist statement/contact info.

We will accept digital files and traditional prints but keep in mind any prints will be handled by guests and should fit on our table. If you wish to send a digital file for our presentation please do so by Friday June 5th to stephaniedowda@gmail.com or jennaduffy@gmail.com.

Thanks! We hope to see you at the event and look forward to your feedback.
