SPS is now a part of the Showcase Photo and Video Photo Club. Membership in the club, which is free to the club and our members, entitles us to discounted prices on Epson products, photography supplies, equipement, classes, seminars, and web hosting. Membership cards will be provided to all members. Until you recieve your membership card, you can stil recieve your benefits by telling them at checkout that you are an SPS member. Best of all, based on the amount of purchases our members make, the club recieves a rebate every year.

We promote development of photography skills and artistic expression among our members through:

Lectures

Lectures are presented by local and nationally known experts on various topics in photography such as travel, nature, action/sports and digital image production.

Competitions

Competitions judged by local professionals who provide feedback on impact, composition, and technique to help develop strong artistic style. Some are open to any subject matter while others are limited to a specific theme, such as travel, nature, or people.

Club Sponsored Seminars and Workshops

Seminars and workshops are usefull for learning new techniques, such as hand undefined prints or Polaroid image transfers, as well as seeing new products such as infrared films.

Special Interest Groups

SIGs offer the opportunity to participate in seperate activities with smaller numbers of members with similar interests, such as nature, black & white or "on the edge".

Field Trips

Field trips allow members to share ideas, techniques and equipment in various settings, such as as Sapelo Island, the Okefenokee Swamp, and metro parks.

Digital Nature Photo Contest

The Nature Conservancy solicits digital nature photos depicting the diversity of life on Earth for their annual contest; 35 winners will receive prizes and be featured in publication; see website for details.
