| April | Cityscape | An expansive urban environmental scene, buildings or other large structures within an urban environment. | April 4 |
| May | Abstract | The image should be abstract in design and appearance and should not depict the subject matter in a straight forward manner. The subject of abstract photographs are usually patterns, lines, reflections, textures and the like. | May 2 |
| June | Transportation | Things that move people or things from place to place. | June 6 |
| July | Open | No restriction on subject matter. Must have been photographed within the last 12 months. | July 11 **

| August | Animals | No restriction on type of animal. Must be non human. No restrictions on age. | Aug 1

| September | Travel | The image should be distinctive and display a strong sense of place outside the metropolitan area. | Sep 5 |
